Andy In The Afternoon Returns.

Andy returns to the afternoon slot on PVR, starting from June 8th, for a brand new summer season. There will be a mix of music, news, games and guests dropping into our Mill Studios at Pleasley Vale, every weekday from 2pm.

The show, which originally launched on TMCR at Thorne in 2019, moved to our Mill Studios last October when it also became a PVR exclusive broadcast. Last Christmas Day’s extended edition brought in record audiences, so everyone is looking forward to the re-launch on Monday, which follows a short hiatus.

“Most people who work in radio want to host the breakfast show” said Andy. “But I’m not really a morning person, so that probably wouldn’t be the best fit for me. I’m awake by the afternoon!”

And with all the strange goings on, he’ll need to be wide awake! Guests and comic characters, some invited, others not, will be dropping in throughout the show.

“The building we broadcast from is said to be haunted and with the aid of some modern technology we hope to speak to the spooky ‘Mr Weaver’ live on air.”

Long term favourites Sid the bin man, and the doddery woman are also expected to be back, kept in check by the famous PVR Elves.

“I’ve been asked if the PVR Elves are like the QI Elves” Andy explains. “The answer is no. QI Elves know everything. PVR Elves are… erm… shall we say… a bit different to that. They do each have specialist skills though. You’ll have to tune in to the shows to find out more.”
